History of the Bank

The road to open the first privately-owned Native American bank on a federally-recognized Indian Reservation has been a long haul. The process took almost 2-years. However, while the ups and downs were discouraging at times, the shareholders never once gave up. This tenacity demonstrates the strong commitment of the shareholders to ensure Turtle Mountain State Bank will be a viable economic tool for the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation and its people.

Turtle Mountain State Bank officially opened in December 3, 2007.
